Bella’s Love Me Do Blog Hop

I had fun creating this card:

I used the bffaBUGS. Aren’t they so sweet? Patterned paper is from the Making Memories Love Struck collection and the photo corners are from Heidi Swapp. I stamped the image in Versafine in onyx black, and colored with Prismacolor pencils blended with Gamsol. And of course, the bugs have some glitter and glaze on them!

How about a prize? In addition to the fabulous eye candy, we have decided to hide a prize somewhere along the hop! One pre-selected blogger will draw a random winner from the comments on her post, and the winner will receive a $25 Gift Voucher to Stamping Bella!!! The fun part is…we’re not telling you who it is! Cosmobella is one of my favorite bellas…I made this card for a friend of mine just to say hi!

The background paper is from SEI’s Mimosa collection. It’s a beautiful paper collection – gorgeous colors and very shimmery!

She’s stamped with Versafine ink and colored with Prismacolor pencils and gamsol.

Glittery snowman

This fall/early winter has been very mild in the Buffalo area…no snow yet! Even though I love snowman, I can’t say that I’m all that disappointed by the lack of real snow.

I made my first holiday card of the season using Stamping Bella’s “snowman circle with bird and prezzie.” He’s so cute…although I think I was a bit too generous with the glitter. I can’t even see his eye anymore! Oh well.

A friend of mine recently gave a beautiful birthday gift, so I thought I’d thank her with a hand-colored card. I love the Ketto stamps from Stamping Bella, so this card features Maisy Ketto:

She’s stamped with Versafine ink and colored with Prismacolor pencils and gamsol. Plus, she’s got some glitter and glaze on her. Too cute!

Artful Bra at UB

Check out this terrific fundraiser at the University at Buffalo:

The Artful Bra is a display of “creative brassieres” designed and created by University at Buffalo staff and members of the Western New York community. The bras will be auctioned to raise funds for the American Cancer Society for Breast Cancer Research.

This project is part of the University Employees Campaign for the Community, an annual campaign which raises funds for the United Way and other Western New York Charities.

The bras will be on display at the University’s Center for the Arts, in the Atrium Display Cases, outside the Main Stage, from September 21st through October 30th.

I participated in The Artful Bra as an artist. Here’s my creation called “In Full Bloom”:

Super bella coloring

A couple weeks ago, I was fortunate enough to take two classes at Stamping Bella in Toronto. Paula Williamson (seriously…check out her blog and fabulous work!) came in from Michigan to teach coloring with Prismacolor pencils and gamsol. I am so glad I went. Learned a lot, had fun, and bought some bellas to bring home with me.

Over the next week or so, I’ll share some of what we created…starting with Chatty Cathy:

Isn’t she cute? Not only are the colors beautiful, she’s got some bling going on with a bit of glitter on her skirt.

Please note that I did all of the coloring, according to the directions Paula provided. She guided us completely on which colors to use and taught us about shading, building colors, etc. Super fun!

I love Kim Hughes’ designs. I’ve had the Comforting Hugs set for a while now and just pulled it out recently to make a get well card for my sister-in-law.

Too cute! I paper pieced the band-aid and stitched the pink panel to the black scallop piece that I cut with my Nesties.

Hope it brings a smile to her face while she’s recuperating!
